I’m Lisa Blakeborough, a children’s illustrator and visual storyteller. I make vibrant, thoughtful, nature-inspired artwork for books, magazines, puzzles and more.
Sharing a love of nature
Ecology, mindfulness, diversity, and kindness are important topics to me and common themes in my illustrations. I especially enjoy collaborating on creative projects that inspire kids and playful adults to connect with the beauty and magic of the natural world.
I have been drawing my whole life. My education includes a BA in Landscape Architecture from UW-Madison and continuing studies in Illustration at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. For the past 15+ years I’ve been lucky enough to work as a professional illustrator and graphic designer (and also had a side hustle as a yoga teacher for 10 of those years).
I live near Minneapolis, MN with my son where we enjoy exploring our local parks, and making weekly visits to our neighborhood library and farmer’s market.
I am a current member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
If you're interested in working together, I'd love to hear a bit about your project. You can reach me at: hello@lisablakeborough.com
